Shadows
Elephant |
I win |
The set of shadows were really fun to shoot. I honestly could have shot many more and more interesting ones if I was given more time, because there is so much you can do with these shadows. The first two images are of me and my sister. The caption "Me, but in 2D" simply some "gentle comedy'' and I thought including lame jokes in titles was absolutely necessary. I realized I had no simple photos f me in my ethnography (other than the selfie). This was the perfect opportunity because I could put myself in it while being the photographer. I decided to include these because it adds a 'simple' and 'homely' touch.
The next one is the wooden Elephant. This elephant's design includes a texture of holes on its body which casts a pretty impressive shadow when light is shined on it. It casts a beautiful shadow with small circles of light shining through. It's almost like that scene in Lion King where the animal's spirit watches over him.
The final one is the one where me and my sister are playing Rock, Paper, Scissors. Its titled "I win" for a kind of 'confusing' reason. Was it me who won? Was it her? I guess you'll never know. When I edited this I tried to make the picture as balanced and symmetrical as possible and I actually like how it finally turned out.
I was really lucky to have a couple of sunny days to help photograph shadows. I like how this set turned out in the end, in which I think there is a good variety of different types of shadows and images.
